I'm a big REfan, or addict, if you'd rather say that. I've got over 60 REgames in my collection.

Returning to Bright Falls~

My stepbrother was here during the holidays, and he wanted to see me play Alan Wake. So, I started a new round on a new profile on my xbox, since I didn't want to lose my previous progress. The lights were out and the door was closed during the first chapter for the best effect. I stayed as close to Alice as I possibly could when we walked up to the cabin. After all, I knew exactly what was to come.

We only played for about an hour or so, since it was starting to get really late. I still have the whole game fresh in my memory. Alan Wake was, without a doubt, one of the absolute best games I bought this year, I don't regret for even a second that I also bought the Collector's Edition of it. I look forward to the next time I can return to Bright Falls.

Wishful thinking / Merry Christmas!~

I had everything prepared for a great videogame-playing evening - I had a Resident Evil T-Virus Antidote that I got from my Secret Santa Fredrika, chocolate, a can of Coca Cola Vanilla, and I game I'd been looking forward to test. My Dreamcast had found its way home to me, and I was going to play Resident Evil Code: Veronica for the first time. I had been playing Code: Veronica X on my PlayStation 2 lots of times before though. This would without a doubt be perfect evening for gaming. At least, that's what I thought - my Dreamcast couldn't play the discs, I tried both of them. This was yesterday (or two days ago if you count this as a new day. Almost 2:30 in the morning. Guess I should sleep soon, haha!) I drank my Vanilla fairly quick, but luckily, I'd decided to save my Resi-energy drink, so it's still not opened. So instead of Vanilla Coke, T-Virus Antidote, chocolate and RECV yesterday/two days ago, I got Coca Cola Cherry, chocolate and Kingdom Hearts.Even though I've played that game several times before, it was of course a lovely reunion. I just hope I'll get the chance to try Code: Veronic soon too. I'll have to wait and see~

Also, Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday to you all! =D Hope you'll have a great time =)

Confessions of a fangirl~

Do I get points for the cool title? Haha!

I admit it - I've been a real Albert Wesker-fangirl since 06 or 07. Before that, it was mostly Claire, even if I wasn't as much of a fangirl then as I am now. I think I'll have to mention now that I'm a "voice-person" - that I for example mostly choose music after hearing the singer's voice. Like when I first heard The Poet And The Muse when I played Alan Wake the first time. I'd never heard any of their songs before, but I instantly felt that the singer's voice was special. So, I looked for information about the band, and I now have all of their cds, hehe. But back to the subject - voices are important to me, which is why I wasn't really happy when I found out that Richard Waugh wasn't going to voice Wesker in Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles. Waugh had voiced him in Resident Evil 0, Resident Evil Code: Veronica and Resident Evil 4, and I really loved his voice.

So when Umbrella Chronicles was released to the Wii in November 2007, I'd decided that no matter how much I wanted to play the game, I couldn't get used to a new voice for one of my favourite characters. I wasn't going to buy Umbrella Chronicles. That boycott actually lasted fairly long - I bought my Wii in June 2008 to be able to play Resident Evil 0 and REmake. Even though I now had the right console, I had no thought about buying the game. Until August the same year, that is. My first impression of DC Douglas, who was the new voice-actor, was that he sounded like he had a cold. It wasn't at all as good as Richard Waugh's version, the one I'd gotten so fond of. But I understood that this was Capcom's choice, and what could I ever do about that? Well, I could sign an online petition to get Waugh back, which I also did, even though it never really changed anything in the end. But I had at least done something.

Then, Resident Evil 5 was released, and even though I still didn't like Douglas's Wesker-voice, I couldn't deny it had improved. But still, he wasn't Richard Waugh. Mind you that I can be really stubborn at times, haha! I don't know how many times I've thought to myself that Douglas wasn't right for Wesker at all, that Waugh was the only one. A little fanservice of a shirtless Wesker sadly wasn't enough to change my mind. But just as I eventually learned to accept the Resident Evil-movies, after defending Afterlife when I'd read a review that - according to me - wasn't fair at all. I'd never thought I'd admit that yes, the movies are good, even though they obviously could've been better. It's the same with this - I'd never thought I'd change my mind about DC Douglas. But that was of course before I was linked to a site where you can get Albert Wesker as a voicemail for your phone. Before I found his website and learned more about him.

So here I am, the day after I got the link, and I'm following DC Douglas on facebook and twitter. I've also to 100% accepted him as Wesker, and I've already had time to fangirl him quite a lot. Sure, Richard Waugh will always be Albert Wesker's real voice for me, but hey - Douglas sure does an amazing job!

AI-Chris vs. Wooden Box

The title says it all, really XD I was playing Resident Evil 5, out on a treasure hunt (as usual. Need to upgrade my weapons on the PS3 too). I played as Sheva, and I had Chris set on "Attack". I had no idea that a simple wooden box would be that much of a challenge XD I managed to film his struggles, and the results can be seen on youtube. Just follow the link! ^^

Welcome home, number 25

I now have 25 Resident Evil games. I bought a PS3 a few days ago, and bought RE5 Gold Edition for it. I have to finish the game yet again to be able to play Mercenaries, Desperate Escape and Mercenaries Reunion, which means I have to spend quite some time with Sheva's AI (unless I play with friends, of course). But as soon as that's done, I'll be able to play Mercs, yay! 25 sure feels like a good number. Five more thn twenty, and also five away from thirty. Still need to get Wiimake and Zero Wiimake... Crazy fangirl, me? Noooo, what makes you think that? =D

Defending Afterlife (And the other REmovies)

Okay, so, I watched Resident Evil Afterlife in 3D, and I really liked that movie. For the last few years though, I've always figured that since the games are the games, and the movies are the way they are (lol) I can't like them both, and I of course chose the games.

Today, I went in a direction I didn't think I would - I bought the Limited Edition Trilogy-box of the first three REmovies. Why is that "weird"? Well, saying for so long that I nearly hated the movies, and already having a copy of them each are the main reasons for that. But it doesn't end there. I read a review about Afterlife that was in a Swedish magazine, where someone who knew NOTHING about the REgames wrote it, and really critisized the fourth movie, in ways I hadn't even expected of a non-REfan. I won't mention them here though, since I'm a bit lazy, hehe.

Instead of agreeing with the writer of the review, which I normally do when it's about the movies - I chose to defend it, since I figured that the critique wasn't fair at all. And this was basically 'cause the reviewer said that Alice was a heroine from both the games and the movies. That sure enough proves that this isn't a fan, nor someone who takes the time to do some fairly amount of research before writing a review like that. If you're gonna bash something, do it right. I did watch the three first movies only to be able to bash at the right things. Afterlife changed my view of them. So yes, for the first time in my life (kind of) I defended the REmovies. Even though I got to defend the games at the same time. I'm just that much of a Resi-addict X)

Afterlife (no spoilers, haven't even seen it yet XD lol)

So, it's time for "Resident Evil" Afterlife to hit the cinemas. And yes, putting the quotation marks around Resident Evil, and not the whole title explains very well how I feel about the movies. I really don't mind watching them - they're great movies, they really are - but they're just not Resident Evil.

Anyway, I'll be watching Afterlife next weekend, since it takes a while for the movies to get here X) But... it won't be a normal visit to the cinema. Why's that? Well, I'm not gonna tell =D

Let Me Live valkyrie + RE2GC

I got happy news today - the fabric I bought for my CVX-vest CAN be printed on =D I began drawing my own design for the Let Me Live valkyrie a few days ago, so it was great to fint out, means I can continue working on the vest and the rest of the cosplay ^^

Over to the next point, RE2GC. Today, I've had this game for two years =3 Which means no matter how many other games I'm playing at the moment, I'll start a new round on this one. I've got too little time to be able to play all of my games X)

Third cosplay in progress!

At least kind of ^^'
Bought the material I need for my Code Veronica vest, and it's going to be the Darkside Chronicles-version. I really need to study every detail closely, and I'll also have to check if I can get the Let Me Live-valkyrie onto this material... I'm going to try to make as much as I can without having to buy any finished clothes, though I think the jeans might be a bit TOO difficult to do X)

Anyways, here's a pic of the lovely Claire ^^

New Layout~ + Silent Hill Origins

I gave my blog a new layout today, thought it needed some change ^^ I still don't think I'm 100% finished, but I guess I never will be either X)

I bought Silent Hill Origins last week (I've watched when a friend of mine played a few other Silent Hill games) and I've realized that panic is NOT a helping hand while playing X) I love horror games, just because they can be so scary and interesting, but I stopped playing this one after 16 minutes. Haven't tried it snce XD Gotta give it a new chance soon. I now have 19+ games I need to finish =0 And I thought I'd have time to play games this summer *shakes head* Oh well, I guess I'm just lazy then X)

Code: Veronica X

So, I hadn't played CVX in months, and figured it was about time to start a new round. It has gone a kinda long time though, so I wasn't always 100% sure of what to do XD But, I've now made it to part 2. Took me more time than I want to admit to find the Gold Key, and I facepalm'd as soon as I did. "I KNEW it was there!" But yeah... Seems like I didn't, lol. So I might not remember where evrything is, but I do remember all of the codes used in the game.

I remember that before taking this break from the game, I could play through the first half being confindent enough to not save the game. I knew exactly where to go, and when to go there. Which was why I needed the break, to let the game be a surprise again, like it was when I played it for the first time for over three years ago.

CVX is just such a long game, but that's one of the reasons why I like it so much. It was the first REgame I bought (...at least I think CVX was the first...), and also the first I played without having my older brother play it first. He still hasn't played it yet, need to do something about that X)

So... I've noticed that I never get any comments on here, but that still doesn't stop me from writing. I liked having a blog, and I love writing about my gaming progress, and other thoughts about games. So, you'll see more posts in this blog wheter you like it or not =D

RE Mercenaries

The Mercenaries mode in the Resident Evil games has always given me panic. In RE4, it was mostly because of the chainsaws. I hate chainsaws. And the fact that it was all on limited time just made it all worse. Then I got RE5. Was scared as much by the Mercenaries mode there, but I somehow managed to saurvive. It was still giving me panic for the time limit, but there weren't any chainsaws. At least not on every location. And then I unlocked Tribal Sheva. I'm in love with that character. Unlimited ammo + one-hit-kill = awesome. So after lots of time trying, I've now gotten over my "fear" for the Mercenaries mode. Ain't that just awesome =D

It's MY chair! XD

Was playing REmake with Chris one day, and when I was in the Aqua Ring, I tried to pick up a shotgun. But instead, I examined a chair, at the same time as the Neptune made his little splash-thingie. "It's MY chair!!!!" is clearly what he says =D

Lost In Nightmares and Desperate Escape - no spoilers =)

I played these two new episodes for the first time today. Lost In Nightmares was just like walking into the Mansion from RE1 yet again. I couldn't stop myself from commenting some situations with good ol' Barry's quotes, like "Hope this is not Chris's blood" and the oh so famous Jill Sandwich. The episode was fun to play, and it actually scared me a few times ^^ The puzzles were a bit too easy though, and I could glide through Lost In Nightmares in a little more than an hour (I took the opportunity to investigate every new room, couldn't resist). All in all, I liked it, even though it should've been longer. I'm happy with my A rank on the first try ^^

Over to Desperate Escape, which had the same pace as the main game. I think it was a bit rushed, since it only took me about 40 minutes to finish. Though, it wasn't supposed to be a full-lenght game, it was only to show how Jill and Josh made their way to Chris and Sheva. Got an A rank on this one too, so I must've done something right, hehe X) I haven't tried Mercenaries Reunion yet, but there'll be time for that one too.

Update

Was a while since I wrote here, I think.. ^^''' I've been busy playing Alan Wake - love it - and yay, I've graduated from school! =0 So I'll have more time to play games now. Hopefully ^^''' Besides playing Alan Wake, I'm making a Claire-plushie. Think I need to redo it though, since it looks kinda... wrong xD But.. I have big plans for how to make her clothes - take the fabric left from when I made my RE2-vest to make hers, and so on. She'll be a mini-me, yay! X3 But, still a lot to do~

A little update~

I haven't played any REgames in a while now, since Project Zero/Fatal Frame 3 has taken my complete attention. When I've finished that, I'll continue with my REmake run with Chris, and my Pro round on RE4Wii. I hate those Regenerators though X)Let's see, what more? Hm... Still need to beat Survivor 2 (hd it for three years, I think. Nemmeh-boy scares me XD), both Outbreak-games... Then I think I've played all of my REgames, yay! X)

Finished my Rebirth round with Jill on Deadly Silence~

After 5 hours, 36 minutes and 5 seconds. Saved 19 times. I managed to save Chris, but sadly, Barry didn't make it D= Wesker was killed, and I only had to fight the Tyrant once. It was an interesting round, and the new puzzles, the first-pseron view knife-fights and the added surprises was a nice way to make the original RE a little bit different. I began a new round with Jill, but in original mode. I do like Rebirth mode, but the original is still the original n____n

And speaking if the original REgame - yesterday, I'd had my copy for two whole years ^^ Sure took a while before I found a site where they still sold it. When my brother and I were younger, he played the REgames while I watched, helping him as much as I could with the puzzles. He bought RE2 and RE3, after borrowing REoriginal from a friend. My brother didn't buy it himself though, which is why I - when I began to play the games myself - tried to find a copy of it. One day and two years ago, I finally did n____n

Hello MO-disc! =D

I'd left it in the Underground, yay X) Didn't have to backtrack too far. And oh, this is my 25th blog post, yay n____n
Anyways, Deadly Silence again. Trying to finish the game from this point without any health items = not gonna happen. I wonder what I did during this round, must've been taking lots of damage =0

Yay, finally! XD (progress in Deadly Silence)

I managed to defeat all of the enemies I'd been stuck by last night, but now, I've realized that I've forgotten something very important - I only have two MO discs. I seriously have no idea where the third one is. It's very tempting to restart this round, but I'm too stubborn X) Hopefully, it won't take too long until I find it. This game must really hate me XD

The Hunters are mean D=

At least in the first-person knife-fights in Deadly Silence. I'm at one point where I first have to knife 2 zombies, then one zombie and a hunter. I'm low on health - I only have one green herb, nothing else. If I'm lucky, I'll get another green herb after that little fight, if not, I'll have a hard time in the next part, where I meet: two zombies, one dog, two more zombies, and then a hunter. I think I've been killed 20 or so times in those two fights so far. It's impossible without enough health =0 I hope I'll get past that part. I'm in the labs already, so the game is almost over. To get stuck there sure isn't fun X)

It's in English! =D

I FINALLY figured out how to make all of the text in my blog in English, yay XD Didn't look good to have the text to the comment-box in Swedish while I wrote everything else in English... so yeah X)

I played a little more on my REmake-run with Chris yesterday, and found a statue that was "standing silently in the darkness". I mean, since when did statues make sounds? XD Simply awesome X) I seriously think I looked for the crank for 10 minutes. I got a little confused since I'd been playing Deadly Silence at the same time, where I knew for sure where the crank is. It's not that hard to find really. Sure been too long since last time I played REmake. Oh well, I'll hopefully have more time when summer begins and school ends n_____n

Kniferuns

I've seriously never had any ideas of making one myself, since I feel a lot safer with a gun equipped XD Though, I love watching them. The players sure need to come up with new tactics.

The only times I've been running around with only a knife in RE was when I played the Battle Game in Code Veronica as Wesker. Somehow, I managed to get rank A X) More than that, no. I'd rather stay away from the knives as much as possible. But, with Rebirth Mode on Deadly Silence, that's easier said that done. Sometimes, when you enter a room or an area, the game swithces to first-person mode, and you have to slide the stylus over the touch screen to attack with _the knife_. Yeah. And I've been surviving, somewhat, at those times. I really haven't played much DS games, I've only had mine for a few weeks now ^^'''

There was one point in the game (so far) where the knife-fight got even more difficult and complicated - in the _third_ encounter with the Yawn. (I call it Yawnie now, since that's what I calledo ut in ...panic... when I played REmake a few minutes ago. It's just that awesome XD) So yeah, you meet Yawnie a third time, and you have to knife it. From first person view. Since I'm not too sure if you can move during those times (at least I haven't done that) you can only attck it when it attacks you.

After five or so deaths, I managed to get in a few lucky (or skilled, lmao) swings with the knife, and beat it. When I was in danger. So, since I was out of First Aid Sprays and herb, I had to run to the lab like that, hoping I wouldn't be attacked. I saved the game as soon as I could, and when I'd finally gotten the key to the Power Room, the battery was out in my DS. Which means I'll have to redo a few things. Lucklily though, I won't have to meet the Yawn, yay! =D

Differences between the versions

Because when you have 24 REgames, where a lot of them are just the same game but for different consoles and/or different versions, you sure notice these things. I'm not gonna bring up all of the differences between REoriginal and REmake though, since those differences are REALLY obvious (it's a whole new game!).

Differences between REoriginal and Director's Cut?
Even if these two games may seem identical at the first glance, there ARE differences even here. Like the fact that Director's Cut has some new camera angels, and auto aiming.

Differences REoriginal and Deadly Silence?
Now THIS will be fun to write! I've only had my dear #24 for a few days, but the differences between the "Original Mode" and the "Rebirth Mode" are many. Like when you find Richard bitten by the Yawn; in original mode (which is the same as REoriginal, only on DS) you have to get him the serum. In Rebirth mode however, you have to give him mouth-to-mouth by blowing into the microphone. I thought that was a very interesting way of changing the way of things. There are a LOT of differences between these two, where the rebirth mode in Deadly Silence uses the touch screen and the microphone of the DS. There are also zombies and monsters in new areas, and it's like playing a wholenew game, but still not as different as REmake.

I guess I'll have to call this "Part 1", and return to listing the differences of the other games in separate blog entries. So, this was all for now =)

Number 24 has now been rescued ^^

I bought my 24th REgame today - Deadly Silence. The REbirth mode scares me, seriously XD I did NOT expect to see zombies where there hadn't been any before X)So... now I have one more game I need to finish =0 Wonder how this'll end XD

So, here's a photo of what my REgame-collection looks now. I do have a lot of other REtings, but I chose to focus on getting the games into one single photo this time ^^'''

REmake and Wiimake?

I've been thinking about buying both the Wiimake of REmake and Zero's Wiimake, but since I already have both those games, I'm a little unsure. Then again, that didn't stop me from getting multiple copies of the other ones X)

At least I know for sure that I'm going to buy Deadly Silence, since I've said I'd buy it when I got a DS. My REcollection is big already, so only a few more games wouldn't make such a difference really. The only thing is that I don't have enough time to play them all x.x *sighs*.

As you may or may not know, I'm playing REmake as Chris, and I also have a new round started on RE2. But it doesn't end there; I also have a PROround on RE4, a new round on RE3, and I STILL need to sit down and finish both Outbreak games and Survivor 2. So much to do, so little time. The other games in my game-box have been kind of neglected for a long time. Like Kingdom Hearts 2, Prototype and FEAR. And I also miss playing Project Zero/Fatal Frame.

School sure takes up a lot of time that could have been used to play games instead. Good thing this is my last year ^^ Hopefully, I'll have more time this summer.

Omfg, more REmake progress!

Yesterday was monday, which means that I was at my dad's watching Heroes. That show has sure gotten complicated lately X) So I didn't have time to play any games at all, aside from some on the DS, but that's a different story ^^'' Anyway, I had the day off from school today, so I had lots of time to play. I got really far on my REmake-round with Chris, but after a wrong turn and the fact that I opened the wrong door, I found myself in the same narrow hallway as two Crimsons.

Man, I'm gonna hate the game when the Hunters show up. And those death masks scare me, they have a really freaky grin =0 Right now, I've found three of the four death masks, and just had a little meeting with the lovely closet-zombie (itchy, tasty). But one thing that'll freak me out far more than the Hunters, will be the Neptunes. I love sharks, I think they're really interesting creatures, but I'm seriously afraid of water in video-games. I can't even play that ship-level in Mario 64 X) And... my love for sharks is only present when I can look at them at a safe distance (TV ftw). I don't wanna meet one up close =0

The first time I played REmake, I couldn't belive that I thought that the Fish Tank in the original was scary, these sharks look so muc more REAL and that scares me oo''' Hopefully, I'll be able to go down there without panicking... Feels good that ther's still some time lft before I get to that point though ^^

REmake progress ^^

I managed to figure out what I was supposed to do in REmake, and even though I was scared by a Crimson Head when I tried to burn him (he was mean eough to decide that he wanted to kill Chris at that moment), I managed to get kind of far. I've never finished RE1 or REmake as Chris, which I think is really bad X) There are just so many games that I should be playing right now... Well, got things to do ^^

Happy Birthday to me~~

Yesh, 19th birthday. Great day n__n Don't feel any older, but still XD
I'm now a proud owner of a Nintendo DS Lite (yeah, it's taken a while to get one XD), and can finally buy and play the game that'll be my 24th REgame - Deadly Silence. Sure, I have REmake, original and Director's Cut, but I'm still gonna get REDS and the Wiimake of REmake. Wiimake is such an awesome word X)

And speaking of REmake, I actually played it again yesterday. As Chris. Just barely got away from a Crimson Head unharmed, they're MEAN OO. I've fnished REmake once, I think. As Jill. I don't like playing with Chris, too few items can be carried =0 Wonder how long time it'll take for me to finish it...

I also began playing a new round on RE4Wii last night. Doing another speedrun. The record is 2 hours and 12 minutes, if I remember correctly. HOW is that even possible!? XD I've barely gotten to Krauser after 2 hours.. X) Oh well, gonna keep on trying! n___n

New start! =D

I've decided that I should start writing here again, and this time make it all in English. So, as you might've realized already, I'm a HUGE Resident Evil-fan, since I do have a collection of 23 games.

In this blog, I'm going to write about a lot of different things that has something to do with videogames - my biggest interest. For example, I'll put up stats here whenever I finish a game, and write a little about how that round went. I'll also write about my hard tries of surviving Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition on Pro. It's mean X)

Besides playing games, I also write fanfics and draw fanarts, and if you're interested, feel free to visit my deviantART page, the link is on the blog somewhere, but I'll put it here just in case ^^ http://mlie-redfield.deviantart.com/

So, I hope you'll find this blog interesting =) I can't wait until I get back to writingfor real here again ^^
